Who Is Ann?
Other than a lifetime in the real estate industry, Ann is committed to the community. She and her husband have raised their children in South Bethany for the past 23 years. She owns a home at Sea Colony with her brothers and sisters and spends most of her time in and around Bethany Beach.
Her two daughters own a business on main street in Bethany known as Three Blonde Bakers.
She counts, among some of her closest friends, people she met when selling them real estate.
Why use a REALTOR?
When my husband and I recently purchased real estate in Sarasota, Florida, even though I had 2 decades of experience in the industry, I took a seat in the very back and let my REALTOR lead the way. She not only knew the market conditions, she knew the city and knew people we could rely on being absentee owners. Here's how we almost blew it. I found a house I loved on-line, the price was perfect, perfect location, saw the inside photos, and we were ready to purchase.
Through research, our REALTOR shared with us that there were foreclosures up and down that street. Utility bills and HOA bills were not being paid, lawns were not being cared for. The HOA would likely be passing unpaid bills along to existing homeowners in one form or another. For many reasons, the road this home was located on was going to get much busier. In addition, it was inside the city limits with much higher taxes than we had budgeted for.
She listened when I said we wanted to own for 5 years. This area would not have recovered in 5 years. We wanted a pool and to spend time in the yard of a home we purchased. We would not have wanted to spend time outside of this house. We could have made a very large financial and personal mistake. Most people are buying real estate for financial and personal reasons. You need to take both things into account. It's not like you can return it to the store if you make a mistake! I am in the industry and still needed a professional in that market for every single step of the way.
Why does it matter? Why not get your real estate license and go out and find your own house? Or Sell your own house?
Your Real Estate is likely one of your largest assets or THE largest asset in your portfolio. Most people only buy and sell real estate a few times during their life.
For these two simple reasons, it does matter who you work with when buying or selling. There is simply no substitute for experience in the marketplace.
You need someone you trust with experience who understands the market.
I believe a REALTOR who wants to work with you should submit a resume and mine is attached below.
